Can secure the title
Sverre Isachsen can secure his second European title in rallycross this weekend in Poland.
-If I finish third or better, the title is mine. Then I can retire in the last race in the Czech Rebublic, the 39 year old Norwegian says.
Sverre Isachsen won the European Rallycross Championship last year, and can now take his second straight title. He is 17 points in front of Kenneth Hansen in the standings.
-But it will not be an easy match. The other guys will do whatever they can to win. But I will go for the victory, and not try to secure a podium finish. The car is also good after I won the Nordic Championship in Sweden, so I’m looking forward to this weekend.
The track in Poland has some new asphalt, but that doesn’t worry the Norwegian Ford Focus-driver. He finished fourth in Poland in 2009 and won in 2008.
The first heats at Slomczyn starts on Saturday, and the finals are on Sunday from 15.00. You can see the race on NRK1 Sunday at 23.35 and on Viasat Motor Monday at 22.00. There will also be live updates on www.isachsenmotorsport.no during the weekend.
