Isachsen is the best!
Sverre Isachsen finished the season in style; at the top of the podium.
Sverre Isachsen clinched his third straight European Rallycross title in the last race in Poland, but was in a class of his own in the final at Ceska Lipa in the Czech Republic too. And this weekend is at good example of how good the 40 year old Norwegian is.
He was fastest in the free practice, and then fastest in the qualifying too. But he got disqualified from the qualifying.
- Someone are probably tired of me winning all the time, so now they try everything. Someone said that I had ruined the lap of Liam Doran. I was 50 meters in front of him, but they can’t stop me anyway, Sverre said after his punishment.
And he was right. The Ford-driver won both the first and second heat, and had pole position in the A-final. And he won the A-final too; his 23rd victory in the ERC!
- My team is the best, my car is old, but still good, and I drive quite OK myself also. But this could have been my last race with the Focus. I want to build another car, but it depends on sponsorship, Sverre Isachsen says.
Isachsen will now head home to Norway, where there will be an opening of a Sverre Isachsen Museum in his home town of Hokksund on Saturday.
You can see today’s race on NRK1 tonight at 22.35 and on Viasat Motor Thursday at 20.00.
